Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

If you require regular medication your may qualify for a repeat prescription. You can request these by ticking the relevant boxes for the items required on the computerised slip and either:

  • Hand it in to reception
  • Post it, together with a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you
  • Online via the form on this page.  You must be registered to use this service.
  • Email to  fgccg.portchester.prescriptions@nhs.net    (This address is ONLY to be used for prescription requests!)

We aim to have all requests processed within 2 working days of receipt.

From time to time the doctor will ask to see you to review your medication before further repeats are issued. In this respect it is always a good idea to give as much notice as possible when making your requests.

We regret that we cannot accept requests over the telephone.

Electronic Repeat Dispensing

Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) or batch prescribing as it is sometimes called enables patients to obtain supplies of their repeat medicines directly from the pharmacy, over a period of time, without the need for the patient to contact their GP surgery on each occasion for a new prescription.  If you have a stable, long term condition or are on a simple and stable medication regime you may be able to benefit from eRD.
